Newport native Don Owen’s “Inaudible Majesty” now on sale at amazon.com

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — How did the sinful journey begin for a reluctant villain named Don Owen? What made the long trek through a dark wilderness so brutally rugged? Who was the beacon of hope when everything seemed murky on the trail ahead?

What caused a spiritually deaf sinner to begin listening to the inaudible majesty of God?

These questions are answered in Owen's memoirs, Inaudible Majesty. The book is on now on sale at amazon.com.

Owen, a native of Northern Kentucky and a born-again Christian, spent four decades as a writer, media relations director and editor. He traveled all over the country. He met people from every part of the world. And Owen constantly searched for inner peace.

"The more I told myself I'd succeeded at something, the more I realized I was a complete failure," said Owen, a 1980 graduate of Newport High School. "Professionally and personally, I was never really happy. Even as a kid growing up in Newport.

"Only when I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior did I begin to figure it out. But it took many years and a lot of heartaches."

Inaudible Majesty chronicles the journey of this reluctant villain, a flawed and fragile mortal whose many sinful mistakes eventually guided him to the Lord Jesus Christ when all else failed.

Owen's journey actually began in the summer of 1974, when he disclosed a dark secret to a total stranger on a near-deserted baseball field in Newport, Ky. This dark secret had haunted the 12-year-old Owen for two months.

An hour or so later, meeting this total stranger would become a defining moment in the life of a struggling pre-teen named Don Owen.

Owen’s career as the sports information director at Northern Kentucky University is a major focus of these memoirs. His struggles as an adolescent and painful trek into young adulthood are also chronicled. Many of the chapters and anecdotes will make you laugh. Others are likely to bring you to tears.

Inaudible Majesty documents how following the path of Jesus Christ allows a terrible sinner to escape the dark wilderness of an evil, fallen world. And Owen’s memoirs reveal the glorious rewards of eternal peace that beckon those saved through knowing Jesus Christ as their personal savior.
